M&E and Research Field Manager – Angola

About the role

STOOS Consulting is seeking an experienced Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) and Research Field Manager to lead field‑based data collection and monitoring activities across Angola. The role is highly operational, requiring coordination with local authorities, civil society, and community leaders to ensure high‑quality, ethical data is gathered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate household surveys, key informant interviews, focus groups, market assessments and third‑party monitoring across urban, peri‑urban, rural and hard‑to‑reach areas.
• Obtain necessary provincial, municipal and commune approvals and introductions.
• Recruit, onboard, train and supervise enumerators, supervisors, interpreters and data‑quality staff.
• Translate and culturally adapt research tools into Portuguese and support interpretation into local languages.
• Manage daily field logistics, transportation, accommodation and communication.
• Ensure data quality through spot checks, back‑checks, accompaniment visits and daily debriefings.

Required profile

• Proven experience coordinating field research or M&E projects in Angola or similar contexts.
• Strong knowledge of local administrative structures and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to lead diverse field teams and resolve operational challenges.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
