WASH Specialist (NO-3) – Fixed Term

About the role

The WASH Specialist (NO-3) provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for UNICEF Angola’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) portfolio. Reporting to the Deputy Representative (Programme), the role guides programme development, implementation, monitoring, advocacy, partnerships and humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide managerial leadership and strategic direction for the WASH team.
• Lead programme development, planning, fundraising and resource mobilisation.
• Oversee implementation, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of WASH results.
• Offer high‑level technical and operational support on climate‑resilient and risk‑informed WASH programming.
• Lead UNICEF’s WASH preparedness, anticipatory action, emergency response and humanitarian‑development nexus efforts.
• Strengthen partnerships with government, donors, civil society and development partners.
• Drive innovation, knowledge management, research and capacity‑building initiatives across the sector.
