Professional Development Coordinator

About the role

The Professional Development Coordinator (PDC) will lead HALO Angola’s professional development programme, designing and delivering training initiatives that support staff career progression and meet labour market needs across Angola. The role combines strategic planning, partnership management, and oversight of teachers delivering remote training.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a needs‑based professional development strategy using staff surveys, partnership evaluations, and labour market research.
• Implement the strategy by formalising partnerships with training schools and academies and ensuring compliance with donor and policy requirements.
• Identify opportunities to expand the training offer and secure additional resources to maximise impact.
• Recruit, train, and manage HALO teachers, centralising curricula, materials, and performance metrics.
• Create annual and monthly training work plans in coordination with senior management.
• Maintain data and records on training activities in line with HALO standards.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the programme, reporting gaps and improvement areas.

Required profile

• Background in education and management, with experience designing and launching internal training programmes.
• Proven project design and implementation skills, especially in capacity‑building contexts.
• Experience recruiting, training, and supervising educators or trainers, preferably in remote or field settings.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess training needs, measure impact, and report findings.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with external training partners and donors.
