Accounting & Finance Officer – Remote (Property Sector)

About the role

Rise2Lead, a Portuguese property investment and development firm, is seeking an Accounting & Finance Officer to join the team remotely. The role will start with a historical accounting review and then move to establishing robust monthly accounting processes as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts from 2024 onward, investigate discrepancies and resolve issues with management and external accountants.
• Build and maintain the Fixed Asset Register, reconcile property acquisition and renovation costs, and track property‑level income and expenses.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank, credit card, supplier, VAT, and shareholder/director loans, and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow reports and supporting schedules for external accountants.
• Liaise with external accountants, prepare year‑end documentation, support tax and VAT queries, and help improve accounting procedures and controls.

Required profile

• Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, especially in reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to resolve accounting discrepancies independently.
• Fluent English and professional communication skills for interaction with Portuguese external accountants.
• Experience in property investment, development or real estate is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Portuguese accounting practices and VAT is a plus.
