Column Internals Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Column Internals Technician to join our turnaround team in Angola. The role involves a short‑term, on‑site assignment starting July 2026, with the possibility of additional contracts after the initial 3‑4 week period.

Key responsibilities

• Install and fit column internals such as trays, support rings, downcomers and distributors to exact torque specifications.
• Execute blind‑to‑blind operations: blind the vessel, perform work, and de‑blind for safe pressurised operation.
• Load and unload structured or random packing, ensuring even distribution to avoid channeling.
• Inspect hardware for missing bolts, weeping joints or corrosion and carry out emergency “hot” repairs.
• Perform precision leveling of tray decks using specialised tools.
• Enter confined spaces following strict safety protocols, including gas testing and breathing apparatus.
• Rig and lift heavy components through narrow manways using hoists and pulleys.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with pneumatic tools and torque wrenches.
• Ability to read and interpret as‑built internal drawings.
• Physical stamina and agility for climbing ladders and working in high‑temperature or high‑pressure environments.
• Commitment to safety, especially confined‑space entry procedures.
